Israeli Lone Soldiers need your help.
The holidays can be a tough time for those in the military. Especially for those young men and women from all over the world who choose to leave the comfort of their homes and families to become proud Israeli Defense Force Lone Soldiers. In the Israel Defense Force (IDF), a Lone Soldier is defined as a serviceman or woman without immediate family in Israel usually non-Israelis of Jewish background. Lone Soldiers serve in regular units and receive various forms of support from the IDF, Israeli government ministries and other organizations, but many times this support falls short to meet basic needs. In addition to financial hardships, these Loan Soldiers often suffer from loneliness and homesickness. About 40% of them serve in combat units.
There are over 7,000 lone soldiers currently serving in the IDF. About 45% of these soldiers are new immigrants, coming from Jewish communities all over the world. The most represented countries of origin are the United States and Russia.
The goal of the High Adventure Loan Soldier program is to provide moral and financial support for these brave individuals who have sacrificed so much to protect the Holy Land. While most soldiers are able to lean on their loved ones, Lone Soldiers have no immediate family in Israel, or a warm and loving household to come home to.
Your financial donation will help these brave young men and women have a wonderful holiday season. Your gift will provide an IDF Lone Soldier with a warm holiday meal, gift cards, financial grants, flights to visit their families abroad, Shabbat meals, holiday gift packages, social gatherings, and so much more.
